Dasa Uluwatu, a Balitecture villa development in Uluwatu, Bali

Architecture Scholarship

Design a Villa.Win the Scholarship.

An annual design competition for Indonesian architecture and drafting students. Design a stunning modern Bali villa, submit a few renders, and the strongest entries win a cash scholarship and a feature to our audience of more than 2 million across our channels.

Submissions close 15 September 2026

How It Works

Two Tracks, One Brief

Design a unique, striking Bali villa and show it to us in a few renders. We are looking for bold, original ideas. There are two tracks, so university and vocational students are judged against their own level.

Use AI image generation, your favourite architectural software, or even a hand sketch. Any method is welcome, and most entries take an hour or two.

For architecture students at universities and institutes.

University Track

Design a unique villa with a private pool. Submit renders of the facade, a bedroom, and the living area, plus a simple floor plan and a short note on how your design works in Bali: climate, function, and earthquake resistance.

  • 3 to 4 renders
  • A simple floor plan
  • A short written concept

For drafting and building-design students at SMK.

Vocational Track

Design a villa with a pool and show us your idea in a couple of renders. We are looking for creativity and a space that would be a pleasure to stay in. No structural report needed.

  • 2 to 3 renders
  • A one-line concept

How We Judge

What We Are Looking For

01

Uniqueness

A design that stands apart from the wall of identical villas. We notice the ideas we have not seen before.

02

Feasibility

Could it actually be built and lived in? For the university track that includes function and how it handles Bali's climate and seismic reality.

03

Creativity

Bold, considered, and genuinely your own. Show us how you think.

Who Is Behind This

Designed and Built by Balitecture

Balitecture is an Australian-owned, Bali-based architecture and development firm with a 160-strong team of architects, engineers, drafters, and project managers. We design, build, and manage villas across the island, from one-bedroom holiday homes to full boutique developments.

We run this scholarship because good design is worth investing in, and because the next generation of Indonesian architects and drafters is worth backing. We also just love seeing what people come up with.
