GJ Villa

Six-bedroom villa across multiple levels, 775m² build on a 1,200m² plot. Floor-to-ceiling glass orients the main living spaces toward the ocean view. Arched window detailing carries through both elevations. Modern Tropical, 2024.

The renders of GJ Villa place it on the lip of a jungle ravine, with a village behind it and open rice fields alongside. Six bedrooms are spread over three levels and a roof terrace. White rendered terraces step back as the house rises, each edged with planting, and tall arched windows framed in timber run across the upper floors.

The pool spans the lower terrace with a vanishing edge toward the ravine, lined in green mosaic. Beside it sits a covered outdoor kitchen and bar, and further down the slope a thatched bale on a timber platform holds a spa tub. At the entrance, a traditional gate with heavy timber doors opens onto a paved parking court.

Inside, the main living room sits under exposed timber beams, with a floating timber staircase beside it. River stone walls and breeze-block screens give texture to the dining area and bathrooms, where freestanding baths sit beneath backlit oval mirrors. The plan also finds room for a home cinema, a gym that looks out to the palms and a covered yoga deck. White render and warm timber carry through all of it, in keeping with the Modern Tropical style, on a 1,200 square metre plot in Bali.
