Luma Villas Uluwatu

Multi-villa development in Uluwatu, 10 modern villas across the site. Mediterranean detailing - whitewashed walls, soft archways - with planted boundaries and private pools per unit. Gated entry with shared garden paths between villas.

Luma lines its villas up along a single paved lane in Uluwatu, with a shared parking court at the entrance. The design gives each one a white, softly rounded two-storey block with arched windows on the upper floor, and a walled front garden reached through its own arched gateway and timber door. Palms and travellers palms are planted thickly along the lane, so the walls sit back behind the green.

Inside, the main living space is a sunken lounge with a window set low into the side of the pool, so from the sofa you look straight into the water. Black steel glazing opens the lounge to the terrace on two sides. The kitchen sits beneath the stair, with a round fluted pedestal table for dining, and a timber ceiling warms the white plaster.

Each villa has its own plunge pool ending in a cushioned daybed set into an arched alcove, plus an outdoor shower behind an arched timber door. Bedrooms are kept simple, with plastered niches, slatted timber panels and full-height glass onto the garden. Unit sizes in this Modern Tropical plan for Bali range from 90 to 155 square metres, and the Mediterranean arches give the whole lane one consistent look.
