Modern Tropical
Velaris Villa
About the Project
Modern Tropical
Design
This contemporary luxury house showcases a striking dark exterior with clean architectural lines and expansive glass walls. The two-story home features a minimalist aesthetic with dark cladding contrasted by warm lighting and lush tropical landscaping. A sleek swimming pool wraps around multiple sides of the property.
Almost everything at Velaris is charcoal. Large grey panels clad the walls, flat roofs and mid-level canopies project in thin dark planes, and slim gold-toned strips of light run up the facade between the bays. At the centre of both main elevations, a tall window bay gridded in black frames rises through the house, hung with sheer curtains.
The interior keeps to the same palette. Black marble with white veining runs across the floors, and the double-height living room steps down into a sunken lounge beside a floating stair, a tall panel of rust-toned stone and a suspended light of crossed linear bars. The kitchen is dark timber and black stone, with a long island and a curving pendant above it. Alongside the four bedrooms, the plan finds room for a home gym with round mirrors and a games room with a pool table and a sunken leather sofa.
Facing the garden, a long pool lined in green mosaic tile is edged in black marble, with three round daybeds on the deck and a sunken outdoor lounge to one side. The street front is more closed, with a garage under the upper floor, a stone entry pier and a planted bank. This Modern Tropical villa in Bali sits on a 500 square metre plot, with 479 square metres of floor area.
