Villa Anila 4 Bedroom
About the Project
Modern Balinese
Design
Four-bedroom Villa Anila in a Modern Balinese idiom. Minimalist exterior in earthy tones, with wooden screens softening the volume. Full-height glass sliders pull the living areas onto the pool deck. 408m² build, 2023.
Turquoise mosaic lines the courtyard pool at the centre of Villa Anila. Single-storey wings with pitched roofs run along one side, a two-storey wing with a planted gallery runs along the other, and at the far end two frangipani trees frame a pair of loungers outside the dining room. Timber lattice screens wrap the upper floor of that end pavilion.
The interiors keep to timber and white. Bedrooms have diagonal timber feature walls behind the beds and recessed ceilings lined in woven panels under leaf-bladed fans, and one is drawn as a twin room. The kitchen has a marble waterfall bar with timber stools under a slatted timber bulkhead, and the dining table sits beneath three woven pendants with garden on two sides.
The roof terrace is laid out for a group: long fixed sofas on a timber deck, a glass balustrade facing palms and open sky, and a timber pergola over a second lounge and a dining table on patterned tiles. One bathroom puts a freestanding tub under a breeze-block window. This four-bedroom Modern Balinese villa was designed for a large plot in Boracay, in the Philippines, and is one of Balitecture's international projects.
