Villa Rotasi

This modern villa design is perfectly suited to tropical Bali. It has large indoor and outdoor entertaining spaces, as well as spacious bedrooms and a large infinity-edge pool. Another special feature of this villa is the inside garden, which adds a nice touch of colour to the living area.

The upper floor of Villa Rotasi is drawn with rounded corners. White slabs curve at the ends of the balconies, vertical timber cladding fills the walls between them, and glass balustrades run along the front. Round timber columns carry the floor above where it overhangs the pool terrace of this three-bedroom Tropical Industrial design for Bali.

The pool sits on a raised base of grey blockwork and runs under the overhang, so part of the water lies beneath the timber ceiling of the living area. A palm grows through an opening in the slab beside it. Behind steel-framed sliding doors, the living room has a sunken lounge in front of a feature wall of small terracotta-toned tiles, and a vertical green wall brings planting indoors.

An open-tread timber stair on a black steel stringer climbs a dark tiled wall above the dining table, which is ringed by rattan chairs under birdcage pendants. One bathroom is half open to the sky under a slatted timber pergola, with a freestanding bath on pebbles, terrazzo-look walls and twin vessel basins below round backlit mirrors. In another, the bath faces a full-height window.
