Beachside Boutique

This boutique hotel in Berawa consists of the main hotel building with 8 self-contained guesthouses and 3 large private villas. This unique hotel design combines the best of both worlds for holidaymakers travelling to Bali, with the option of a traditional hotel room experience or a more private and luxurious whole villa stay.

Beachside Boutique is a hotel design for a 2,170 square metre site in Canggu, with a main building, guesthouses and private villas sharing one walled property. The renders open on the arrival: a stone-paved forecourt beside a lawn, and an open ground floor tucked under a timber-clad upper storey, its timber doors cut with round porthole windows.

The architecture borrows its roofs from Bali. Dark pitched roofs sit over white render, vertical timber battens screen the upper rooms, and small timber pavilions with planting stand on the flat roof sections. From the air, one wing reads as a row of rooms, each opening onto its own narrow plunge pool, set behind the main block and wrapped in garden.

Inside, the drawings rely on texture. Bedrooms sit under coffered ceilings lined in timber, and the bathrooms pair freestanding tubs with grey stone walls and black-framed glass. The shared spaces include a long lap pool edged with beanbags, open-sided timber pavilions set up for lounging and long-table dining, a rooftop deck with its own pavilion and a strip of lawn, and a narrow garden path lit at ground level between the buildings. The Modern Balinese palette holds steady from the forecourt to the roof.
