Villa Amia

Villa Amia is a luxurious home located in the popular area of Canggu. The villa features 4 spacious bedrooms, able to accommodate numerous guests or a large family. There are also spacious indoor and outdoor living areas, as well as a large infinity-edge pool overlooking the adjacent jungle.

Villa Amia in Canggu dates from 2017. Balitecture designed it as a two-storey Modern Balinese home: steep pitched roofs with timber-lined gable ends, white rendered walls, glass balconies upstairs and columns clad in stacked grey stone. The main house and a second wing stand at right angles around a lawn planted with a frangipani.

The pool is long and narrow and turns a corner along the lawn. On its garden side the water spills over into a stone-lined channel, and at the far end a gazebo with a shingled hip roof stands beside an outdoor sofa. Closer to the house, a dining terrace is shaded by a black steel pergola with timber slats and oversized woven pendants.

Full-height sliding glass opens the living room on two sides, and the kitchen has a timber-clad wall of storage behind a bar with three stools. Most of the four bedrooms have dark red timber floors and timber headboard walls, and one is set up with twin beds. Several bathrooms are open to the sky, with freestanding tubs among tropical planting, and the showers are tiled in large grey hexagons.
