Two-bedroom Villa Jairo in a Brutalist idiom: geometric off-form concrete facade with sharp shadow lines, softened by dense tropical planting. 333m² build, completed 2023.

Jairo Villa 1 stacks heavy, cubic volumes in pale textured render, and that blunt geometry is where its Brutalist label comes from. The upper floor cantilevers out over the terrace beneath a deep flat roof, with full-height glazing set back behind the overhang and vertical timber fins on the street elevation. A charcoal boundary wall runs behind the planting, so the pale house reads sharply against it.

In the garden, a curving pool tiled in green stone wraps through lawn and boulders, with an in-water lounger and a timber deck at one edge, and stepping stones lead across the grass to the ground-floor bedroom. From the street, the pool sits raised behind a low white wall. The approach is a narrow flight of pale steps between tall screens of bamboo, lit from below.

A travertine-look island with an integrated sink anchors the open kitchen, with sculpted timber stools, dark timber cabinetry, open shelving and grass pendants overhead, and the dining table runs on toward the garden. The two bedrooms in this Bali villa take different moods: one light, with a raised platform bed, and one darker, lined in grey stone. A bathroom sets a deep rectangular tub against a stone-clad wall.
