Villa Amala Type A

Two-bedroom Villa Amala Type A, 141m² build. Modern Tropical detailing across two distinct lounging zones, both featuring sunken sofa pits as the central seating arrangement. Built 2023.

At the street, Villa Amala Type A gives little away: a white upper floor rests on a ground-floor screen of breeze blocks, with a planted ledge between the two and vines hanging down over the blocks. Behind that screen, the two-bedroom plan opens out towards a pool and a planted boundary wall.

The living room is double height under a coffered ceiling of timber and woven panels, with a ceiling fan and large cane pendants. A floating timber stair climbs a wall of stacked stone, and the sunken lounge sits beside full-height black-framed glass with the pool directly outside. The kitchen runs along one wall in timber cabinetry, with a band of round glass blocks above the counter, and faces a timber dining table under woven pendants.

The pool is long and narrow, squeezed between the glazing and the garden wall, where creepers climb the white render and a hammock hangs beside the water. Loungers sit at one end. The bedrooms have timber floors, floor-to-ceiling glass onto the planting and rattan-fronted wardrobes. Balitecture designed Amala Type A in a Modern Tropical style for a 173 square metre plot in Bali, with 141 square metres of floor area.
