Villa Mandalika

This 4-bedroom luxury villa features loads of hidden features that are sure to delight guests. There is a large roof terrace, which has its own dining area, sofas and even a pool. There is also a gym built for exercise and a private cinema room to relax.

Villa Mandalika pairs a hipped-roof wing with a longer flat-roofed block, both rendered white and hung with greenery. Climbing plants spill from planters along the roof edge and the first-floor terrace, glass balustrades front the upper bedrooms, and a long pool runs the length of the garden elevation beside a deck of loungers.

The roof is where the design gets unusual. Under a long flat canopy on slim steel posts, the plan lays out a grassed roof with a sunken lounge cut into it, timber-clad walls around the seating, a dining table and a second pool. Down inside, a private cinema has two rows of deep sofas facing a screen wall, with a lit shelf along the back.

Bedrooms sit under timber ceilings that radiate from a central point, with timber-panelled walls behind the beds and Balinese paintings hung above them. The kitchen has a marble island with a timber bar extension, open shelving and a run of woven pendants. One bathroom opens onto a planted courtyard, with a freestanding tub against a stone wall and twin basins on a floating shelf. It is a four-bedroom Modern Balinese design on a 700 m² plot in Bali.
