Villa Pandora

Two-bedroom Villa Pandora, 310m² build. Modern Tropical detailing with a tight functional plan - every room has a clear job, no leftover circulation space. Built 2021.

A square sunken lounge sits at the centre of Villa Pandora, a two-bedroom modern tropical villa in Bali designed by Balitecture. The pit is lined with fitted sofas on four sides and stepped down from the main floor, with round timber tables in the middle. Behind it, a white stair zigzags up the wall on cantilevered treads, three small arched niches are cut into the plaster beside it, and two arched timber doors lead off the same room.

Much of the colour comes from the furniture. The dining table stands on terrazzo pedestals with green velvet chairs, the kitchen bar has matching green stools under rattan dome pendants, and black steel grid glazing slides back along the whole pool side under a slatted timber soffit. The pool has a shallow ledge with two in-water loungers and raised rendered edges, set in large-chip terrazzo paving with cacti in the planters.

The roof terrace is shaded by a pergola of twisted timber rods hung with woven globe pendants, over a terrazzo-chip floor. A long fitted bench wraps one rendered wall, and the parapet opens through arched cut-outs toward the surrounding rooftops.
