Villa Raya

When it comes to a large luxurious home, this villa design has everything you could possibly ask for. Starting with the main home, there are multiple spacious bedrooms, each featuring a full en-suite bathroom. Downstairs there is a modern open-plan living and dining area overlooking the tropical gardens.

Villa Raya is a five-bedroom Modern Tropical design laid out across a large plot in Bali, with a two-storey main house and lower wings arranged around courtyards. The approach is formal: a timber boardwalk crosses between two long reflecting pools, past a pair of white sculptures, to a timber front door under a vine-draped eave. Further in, a long courtyard runs between the wings with a fountain at its centre.

Behind the house, the main pool is a large angular shape with an overflow edge in green tile. A pool bar with stools is set under a timber pergola at one corner, and a terrace of patterned tiles runs beside the water with a long counter. The upper floor cantilevers over the pool on a timber soffit. Higher up, a hot tub stands on a terrace next to a pergola-shaded lounge with bean bags and bar stools.

The plan also includes two glass-walled rooms drawn as offices, one with shared desks and one with a long meeting table, and a third room with a padded floor and a mirrored end wall for training or yoga. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, and the palette is pale throughout, with light timber, slatted headboard walls, freestanding tubs and walk-in showers.
