Villa Yuliana
About the Project

Design
The architecture of this three-bedroom home makes a strong first impression. Clean rooflines, a mix of stone, wood, and terracotta finishes, and a bold circular window on the facade give it character while keeping the design modern and timeless.
On a 171 m² plot in Bali, Villa Yuliana fits three bedrooms into an Industrial-style design. The street front is charcoal render with a recessed balcony upstairs, a grey panelled section holding the round window, and two timber doors at the top of a short flight of steps, one of them louvred. A terracotta breeze-block screen wraps the side behind a frangipani tree.
At the back, a black spiral stair climbs the outside wall from a covered timber deck, where a long slab table with benches sits next to a barbecue. The deck opens to the kitchen through timber-framed sliding doors. Inside, the island has a dark veined stone top, the cabinetry is timber with raised panels, and a wall of hexagonal tiles sits behind the TV in the living room.
Terracotta comes back in the bathrooms as vertical tiles in a warm orange, paired with pill-shaped mirrors, black fittings and concrete-look walls. The bedrooms use louvred timber wardrobes and timber headboards against soft grey plaster, and the internal stair has a timber handrail on thin black steel balusters. A compact laundry is tucked into a nook beside an upper balcony.
