Tukad
Huts
Award-winning A-frame huts in Kerobokan, where a small footprint was turned into something that feels anything but small. Sold out and finished.
The Project
Small Footprint.
Big Volume.
Tukad Huts is a collection of one, two, and three-bedroom huts in Kerobokan, the rice-field belt between Seminyak and Canggu. The brief was a familiar Bali problem: modest plots, and a buyer who still wants the villa to feel generous. The answer was the A-frame.
By pitching the roof and glazing the gable end, each hut got a double-height living space full of light, with a mezzanine tucked under the apex. From the outside it reads as a clean, almost archetypal hut. From the inside it feels far larger than the floor area suggests.
The three-bedroom hut went on to win an International Property Award for architecture in 2025. It is the kind of result that comes from solving a real constraint well, rather than chasing a look.

The Tukad Huts three-bedroom took the architecture category for a single residence in Indonesia at the 2025 International Property Awards, judged across the Asia Pacific region. It was one of two wins for Balitecture that year, alongside Dasa Uluwatu for residential development.

Specification
Built From
Bali.
The material list reads like a who's who of Indonesian stone and timber. Palimanan on the feature walls, Bengkirai on the deck, exposed wood panels overhead, Sukabumi tiles giving the pool that deep turquoise. These are local materials, specified because they suit the climate and the setting, not because they were the cheapest option on the day.
Each hut came with a sunken living area, a semi-outdoor bathroom, furniture, and kitchen appliances included. Finished and ready to rent, sitting in its own private garden with a turquoise pool.

Why Balitecture
What it meant to develop with us on a project like Tukad Huts.
01
Award-Winning Architecture
The Tukad Huts three-bedroom won the 2025 International Property Award for Architecture, Single Residence, Indonesia. The A-frame was not styling for its own sake - it gave the small footprint volume, light, and a sense of space well above its size.
02
Designed In-House
Tukad Huts was drawn in Balitecture's Kerobokan studio and built by our own team. The architects who designed the gable detailing were the ones checking it got built right on site.
03
Locally Sourced Materials
Palimanan stone, Bengkirai hardwood, Sukabumi pool tiles, exposed wood ceilings. Materials chosen because they belong in Bali and hold up to the climate - not imported finishes that look wrong and weather badly.
04
Australian Founded
Balitecture was started by Australians who invest in Bali themselves. We build the way we would want our own money built - because a lot of the time, it is.
05
Track Record of 200+ Projects
Tukad Huts was one of 200+ completed projects across more than a decade in Bali. An award is a nice headline; the consistency behind it is the actual point.
06
Full Management Available
Our property team was available post-handover for bookings, guests, maintenance, and monthly owner reporting. Owners could stay completely hands-off.
What's Next
Tukad
is Sold.
Tukad Huts sold out. If a clever, award-standard villa on a compact plot is the brief, that is exactly the kind of problem we like solving - on an active development or a custom build of your own.
We have active developments selling now, or we can help you find land and design something from scratch.
“They made the process extremely easy and take care of absolutely everything. We loved the weekly updates with photos during construction. Seeing those renders come to life was awesome. Highly recommend Balitecture and their rental team to work with.”
